If you’re planning a hen or stag do, then there are plenty of great locations in the South East of England. Whilst London has endless options for fun activities and partying, don’t forget that a short drive can take you to a whole host of other great towns and cities. Here are just a few of the best locations for a stag or hen do in the South East.

  1. Margate

In the past few years, Margate has had something of a rebirth. Lying within commuting distance from London, this seaside town is fast becoming a hub for artists and young professionals alike. With a beautiful sandy beach and no shortage of great seafood restaurants, Margate is a picturesque location for a stag or hen do. If you’re travelling in a big group, why not look into private coach hire services as a cost effective alternative to the train. Margate can be reached in around an hour from London. If you like vintage or antique clothing and furniture, Margate is home to a whole host of junkyards and shops filled with treasures such as retro fairground rides and signage. Margate’s Dreamland theme park revives classic seaside rides and hosts a number of famous music acts throughout the year. There are also some great pubs and cocktail bars to enjoy a night out.

  1. Brighton

Brighton is widely famous for its parties, and lying just over an hour’s drive from London it’s a great place to head on your hen or stag do. During the day, you can potter through the Lanes and check out Brighton’s never ending array of independent shops and cafés. In the evening, there is anything from cosy pubs to pumping clubs, beach bars to a vibrant LGBTQ party scene. There is certainly no shortage of fun to be had in this buzzing city, so it’s a great alternative to a London based stag or hen party.

  1. London

Even if you live in the capital, it’s sprawling and ever-changing Boroughs are sure to provide some great options that are different to your average night out. The city can’t be beaten for its sheer volume of museums, galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. If you want to mix things up, why not try a treasure hunt around the city, hitting all your favourite spots, or splash out on a night at the Shard. Other great options include junkyard golf or a VR experience.

If you’re planning your stag or hen do in the South East, the capital city is the obvious choice with its huge array of bars and activities on offer. It can be easy to forget that there are other options out there, but in less than 2 hours you can be in some of Britain’s other top destinations. Whatever your tastes, you’re sure to find something to please everyone in the South East.
